New MD_Tools extension for Compose, TwinActivate and HyperWorks v2024.x

Overview:

The new MD_Tools extension is available for Compose, TwinActivate and HyperWorks (both MotionView and HyperMesh clients) v2024.x.

MD_Tools extension enables many useful features in the scope of Multi-Discipline System Integration (combined use of CFD, FEA, MBD, 1D-System, CEM modeling and simulation) for the implementation of DigitalTwin.

Pre-Requisite:

A consistent installation (i.e. by running a single session of "hw2024.x_win64.exe" main installer) of HyperWorks (desktop and solvers) together with Compose, TwinActivate, EDEM (*), FlightStream (*), Flux (*), PSIM (*) is highly recommended.

Usage/Installation Instructions:

Download/unpack attached ZIP file:

to save embedded unpacked "MD_Plugin" folder (it must contain "Mdt4Compose" and "Mdt4TwinActivate" direct subfolders) to a prefferred location on your machine's disk.

Set new environment variable (either system or user one) as such :

HW_MD_CUSTOM full_path_to_prefferred_location/MD_Plugin

To install the extension in MotionView/HyperMesh:

  1. Open Altair MotionView.
  2. Go to: File -> Extensions -> Add Extension.
  3. Browse the "MD_Plugin" unpacked folder.
  4. Click on the toggle to activate the extension.

To install the extension in Compose:

  1. Open Altair Compose.
  2. Go to: File -> Extensions -> Add Extension.
  3. Browse the "MD_Plugin/Mdt4Compose" unpacked folder.
  4. Click on the toggle to activate the extension.

To install the extension in TwinActivate:

  1. Open Altair TwinActivate.
  2. Go to: File -> Extensions -> Add Extension.
  3. Browse the "MD_Plugin/Mdt4TwinActivate" unpacked folder.
  4. Click on the toggle to activate the extension.
