Hello, I would like to make a 3D Quad Mesh out of a 2D Quad Mesh. How can I do that?
Thanks in advance!
Justus
Hello @Justus Losse ,
you won't be able to get easily an hexa mesh from this extrnal 2D mesh, because your 2D mesh is not regular on the top face (ans on other surfaces.
For hexa mesh, we generally recommend to follow the couple of videos in our Altair How to channel, which show= how to proceed for such cases:
- extrusion of 2D mesh: https://youtu.be/zHcGf3Ikt2A (from 11min40)
- general hexa mesh on complex geometry:
https://youtu.be/Bx6caelrgP0
https://youtu.be/uZ9jrsOxzC8
These videos are based on the new HyperMesh interface, but the tolls for hexa meshing are the same in the old inteface
Hope this helps,
Best Regards,
Michael
