Found a post which suggested deleting the '.r.lock' file. I used task manager to shutdown the cmd and java processes, before deleting. Deleting the file in windows is not possible if any of those processes are running. Added this just in case someone ran into the same issue.
However, when I restart the machine the '.r.lock' comes back and the service does not start. Can anyone help?0
