How to use Ansys result files (.rst) to create a dataset in PhysicsAI?

Hello everyone,

I ran a DoE in Ansys and exported each the result file (.rst) for each parameter set into Training and Test folders, and wanted to create a dataset out of this to train a PhysicsAI model.

In order to ensure that Hyperworks can view the files I imported one result file into Hyperview, and it can be viewed without issues (including tha animation and other results):

Details about the Model:

Geometry : 2D Shell,

Analysis : Linear, Static, (large deformation off)

When I start physicsAI and try to create a dataset out of the result files, I am getting the error that I have shown in the attached screenshot:

What could be the issue here? I am looking for a resolution, since I plan on continuing to use Ansys as a solver.

    Hi Parrytoss,
can you try to convert the results with HVTrans to h3ds first and try the training on the converted h3ds? This way, it should work.

Here is the link how to translate the rst files:
    https://help.altair.com/hwdesktop/altair_help/topics/tools/hvtrans_translate_results_file_t.htm

You can find HVTrans in the Start —> Altair —> Tools —> HVTrans.

Let me know if it helps.

    Best,
    Marc
