Hey guys,
Check it out, here's the deal... I'm trying to mimic how a car's suspension and wheel work in a simulation. I got this motor, simulating the wheel's rotation, and it's hooked up to the hub – works like a charm.
But here's where it gets interesting. To simulate a bump, I set up an actuator under the tire. Now, the solver starts throwing a tantrum with the message "Model May Be Overconstrained". Makes sense to me intuitively, but I'm not giving up just yet. I'm really curious to see how this spinning tire would handle hitting a bump. and the same error pops up when I use the motor to simulate making a turn.
So, what's got me scratching my head is: How can I inject a different kind of movement – whether it's another motor or that actuator – into a spinning body?
ThanksAmir
Hi Amir,
Just be sure that after you solve, you visually verify that your simulation looks good, the model did not break apart, and you are not allowing large deformations at certain joints.
Hope that helps.
