Hi 

 

I am running a frontal impact simulation. Getting the following error message.

 RUN KILLED : TOTAL MASS ERROR LIMIT REACHED

  1000  0.4453E-03  0.8657E-13 NODE     2024577   0.0%         NaN         NaN         NaN         NaN  0.1409+155

 

Can somebody help me to fix this issue.

I am using the following parameters for the TYPE 7 contact.

Istf=4

Igap=2

Fscale_Gap=0.8

INACTI=6

Gap_min=0.1

Fric = 0.1

Iform=2

 Engine file and .out  attached to this message.

    Hi Kamalakarrao,

    Please share the starter and engine out files (both _0000.out and _0001.out).

    The time step seems to be very low in your model. 

    From the engine out files check what is causing this issue. It could be an element, or node or interface.

    For an element, check the related material.There must not be an error in the units system that this data is given in. check the element size also.

    For a node, check the characteristics of connected elements. If the node is on the master side or the slave side of an interface, this interface must be verified.

    For an interface, the gap of the interface must be verified if some failure happens on the master or the slave side of the interface. Also check the interface for any penetrations.

    Finally ensure that the unit consistency followed in the model is correct

    Hi Kamalakarrao,

    The out files clearly shows many penetrations in your interfaces. Please depenetrate them and also clear any intersections if any are present.
