I have created 2 loadsteps

1. Cantiliver beam with end load(1000N) in Y direction

2. same Beam with end load(1000N) in Z direction

and i referenced loadstep1 in loadstep2 using STATSUB(preload) card

But im not getting the  effect( Displacement pattern)) of loadstep1 in results

should it give the result of resultant of two loads???

Or i understood wrongly

    Hi

In your case you need to use CNTNLSUB.

STATSUB are used to take into account specific type of SUBCASE: <BUCKLING, PRELOAD, PRETENS, STRUCTURE, BRAKE>

    I Hope this is helpful

    Regards

If you are doing linear static analysis, I believe you will need to superpose the results from load step 1 and 2  during post-processing to get the overall results.

If you are doing nonlinear static analysis, adding CNTNLSUB in addition to STATSUB should help.

    Hi,

Agree with the above comments. See the below supporting doc on this.
