problem in using forward selection

hi guys....
i have trouble in using forward selection or backward selection,,,,,,
i have connected the set role node to forward selection ,the set role has result,but when it comes to forward selection it produces error:
no data was delivered at input port or not connected to preceding node....
what can i do to fix that?
