Road definition to XZ plane
Dear All,
I am trying to solve a problem with a road-tire interaction, but the road surface is on XZ plane and not on XY plane as usually.
Please let me know if this is possible or not.
If yes, what are the tire and road definitions that i have to use?
Many thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Dinos

Hi Dinos,
What you can do is rotate the road to be parallel with the XY plane.
When you load in the road graphic file, make sure to associate the reference marker to the Front Road reference marker.
Then you can go to the road reference marker an update the orientation. This example I need to rotate the road 180 degrees along the Z axis.
You can do the same to the reference marker for your scenario.

Hello Dino,
when defining an AutoTire you need to select a tire and a road marker. You can create those manually and then from the entity editor select their Z axis to much global Y axis. Thus both the tire and road, which are defined respect to these markers, will be imported along Y global axis. Just keep in mind to change gravity from system Misc -> forms gravity in order to properly apply the weight on Y axis. I am attaching a model of a single tire attached to a dummy body on which I used an initial VX0 = 5000mm/s. Hope this helps!
