If I fit in spheres in STL does that mean my total mass will be different?

I have used STL to create a particle shape in EDEM. Towards the end of simulation my final mass carried has gone up drastically. The density I am using is is 3600 kg/m3, nothing super high. Is there a chance of overlapping spheres getting double counted?

    Hi Atta

EDEM calculates mass of particle taking into account the total volume of the overlapped spheres. Overlapping does not double count the mass.

Please make sure that you 'Calculate Properties' again after changing particle definition, and verify if mass per particle looks reasonable to you. You can do that by going to 'Bulk Material -> your_material -> your_particle -> Properties -> Calculate Properties'. To avoid confusion in the future, you can also leave 'Auto Calculation' checked on.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
