Hi ,
I'm new to RM and I'm asking about the existence of a book or any type of documentation in order to be able to use RM in a Machine Learning/Data Mining java project .
Is this book useful for the integration of RM and Netbeans http://www.amazon.ca/Rapidminer-Lambert-M-Surhone/dp/6131174687 ?
I want than to integrate the algorithm developed into RM's set of algorithms , how could I do that ?

I appreciate your help in advance  .

    Hi there,

The book is some sort of web collage,
Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online.
Charging for other peoples' content, nice business if you can get away with it! The authors do not restrict their gaze to RM...

This junk comes from a well-documented scam house ...

So I think this sort of caper is like Idaho claret - for laying down and avoiding - as It is actually quite difficult to avoid the documentation of RM.

Which algorithm did you actually have in mind? quite a few are implemented already, and documented  ;D

    OP
    thanks for your reply

So , I understand that there are no resources or books to read about integration other than RM's documentation ?

well for the algorithm , it's an ACO algorithm for clustering . Would you please tell me if it exists already ?

    thanks again

    Hi
I take that you have installed RM, look  under the cluster group. If that algorithm isn't covered, and I don't think it is, you'd need to write an extension. You can either download and examine an existing extension and work things out, or buy the paper from the RM shop.

You're right, there is no book produced by non-RM staff; but given the videos, help, etc. that never bothered me, as I like to listen to those that wrote the code. In your position I'd buy the RM paper, and then check out existing extensions, as Ant Colonies take some management!

I write CUDA extensions, using the JNI, that might be a useful avenue for you as well.

    Good luck
