Contact between two plates with gap

hello everyone,

 

I have 2 plates which are having fairly large gap between them. When I apply load to one plate it deforms and touches the other plate and slides over it.

 

My problem is defining contacts between these plates.

 

Is it correct to define interface between two plates (sliding or friction) as it is (Without doing anything special)?

 

                                                                 OR

 

Do I use gap elements or Define interface with value of 'clearance' as actual  gap?

Hi Bharat,

 

I think having slide contact will be a closer to practicality instead of using gap elements.
