Hi there,
I am a Formula SAE member, currently trying to import a CATIA/3DExperience file (assembly). I've already tried saving the assembly in the following formats, getting these different errors:

-CATIA V5 r21, r20, r19; CATIA V5-6 r21, r20, r19 -> "CatiaV5Reader Feature license not available"

-.igs -> It only imports surfaces, not complete solids.

Does anybody know how to import it correctly? I would appreciate it a lot.

Thanks!

    You can import a CATpart or a CATproduct directly into HyperMesh. But you will need the Catia reader feature available in your license.

    The other ways are to export igs, step, parasolid etc. from CATIA and then import into HyperMesh.

    The one where you got surfaces from igs, you can double check if you are actually exporting solids or just surfaces from your CAD software.

    Try parasolid that works pretty good.

    Yes, as Viraj said, you need an additional license to import Catia model (CATPart, CATProduct).

    Another method: from Catia product, build a CATPart and save as ".model" (Catia V4 format). Hypermesh could import .model Catia format.

    Confirmation: by using .model you can import into Hypermesh without additionnal license asked by CATPart/CATProduct.

    From any release of Catia, you can always save as .model
