can I get a friction value between gears with nanofluidx?

Talking about a Gearbox Simulation (no matter what kind of gear design) Does the solution give the coefficient of friction and heat dissipation? Can the temperature reached be displayed in the simulation?

Thanks for your answers and support.

Regards!

    Hi Gerardo,

Unfortunately, nanoFluidX is not capable of providing you contact losses from two solids. You have to provide the constant or initial temperature for the solids if executing a fully transient thermal simulation inside nanoFluidX. If you are using the coupling approach through HTC values, then using the volumetric source term for heat on the gears is the best way to define the problem.
