OptiStruct – TEMPADD command

Topic description: In version 2022.1, OptiStruct adds the TEMPADD command. Multiple TEMP Bulk Data Entries with different ids can be combined by using the newly introduced TEMPADD Bulk Data Entry. It makes the loadings with different temperatures much easier to be managed in the preprocessor.

General Overview

TEMPADD Defines a static load as a linear combination of load sets defined via the TEMP or TEMPD Bulk Data Entry. It makes the loadings with different temperatures much easier to manage in the preprocessor. The TEMPADD Bulk Data Entry can be referenced anywhere the TEMP or TEMPD Bulk Data Entry can be referenced.

Multiple temperatures should not be assigned to the same grid via TEMPADD. Each grid can only have one temperature. If there is a conflict, then an Error message is issued. Nested TEMPADD Bulk Data Entries are not supported. Only one TEMPD Bulk Data Entry can be referenced on a TEMPADD Bulk Data Entry.

Example

An example of TEMPADD usage is displayed below. It combines multiple TEMP cards and a TEMPD card.
