OptiStruct – MIRROR flag in DMIGMOD command
Topic description: In OptiStruct version 2022.1, DMIGMOD RELOC option now has the MIRROR flag, which can be used to mirror the superelement. This is handled through an extension of the existing DMIGMOD RELOC functionality.
General Overview
MIRROR flag in DMIGMOD RELOC option to indicate that a relocation operation is mirroring.
When RELOC and MIRROR are used, there are two ways of defining the reflection.
- Define PA1, PA2, and PA3 which identify the plane of reflection about which the entire superelement will be mirrored.
- Define PA1, PA2, and PA3 in the residual structure and PB1, PB2, and PB3 in the super element. In that case, the super element is mirrored after being relocated.
These three grid points PAn or PBn cannot be collinear.
