EDEM Application Tutorial EDEM 3000: Dozer Blade with Dynamic Domain
Simulation Files and tutorial PDF download link
Tutorial Overview
Dynamic Domain is a method which allows an efficient simulation of large beds of material. In this example, a Dozer Blade has been setup to run through a material bed. At any given point in time the blade is only interacting with a small amount of material, the rest of the material bed is stationary.
This tutorial shows how to create a moving domain around the Blade, all material inside the domain will be active and any stationary material outside the Dynamic Domain will be excluded from the calculation, this improves the simulation speed.
The main focus of this tutorial is on:
- How to setup a Dynamic Domain
- Changing the particle opacity
- Setting the camera to track geometries
- Planning video
Duration
Setup - 10min
Simulation - 1h45min
Analysis - 15min
