Background

Cargo transport is a common engineering problem in the aerospace industry
Often, the target of engineering analysis is the total vertical displacement of cargo
If the vertical displacement is too large, cargo could be damaged by the ceiling of the plane
Radioss can model this displacement caused by turbulence in the air

Simulation Details

This presentation contains descriptions and results of models used to simulate cargo turbulence
In each model, the cargo is held down by a net
The net is first subject to a pre-load before the acceleration is applied to the system

Three different types of cargo were modelled. Please see attached presentation and models for details.
A Solid Block
Frangible Cylinders
Frangible Spheres
