This validation problem determines the required stirrup spacing needed to meet the demands of a simply supported reinforced concrete beam subject to dead and live loads. S-LINE considers beam length, support conditions, rebar geometry, section geometry, material strengths of concrete and steel reinforcement, and loading conditions.

This tutorial walks through the steps needed to model, design, and code check this design problem. The steps to solve the problem by hand are presented, and results agree with S-LINE generated values. This continuous concrete beam design validation problem emphasizes both accuracy and efficiency for beam design using S-LINE.
