Limit Rbe3 Links

Overview

The existing RBE3 load transfer works based on a tolerance. When there is much variation of distance between the connecting components, the user must set a high tolerance to make a connection at highly separated points but then gets “too many” connections when the parts are close. Too many connections can result in an unsparse matrix with poor bandwidth and a failed solution. This script will limit the RBE3 links based on the nearest top 20 ( or user defined) from Independent Node.

Usage/Installation Instructions

1. Source the script from File --> Run Tcl/Tk script.

2. Select the Spot (rbe3loadtransfer) connectors. Currently the value is set to 20, but can be easily edited in the script.

Limitation

Works only in Nastran and OptiStruct UserProfile.
