Unable to create file due to "Run-time error '381': Invalid property array index"

I am unable to get S-FRAME to allow me to create a new file. Every time I select "New 2D" or "New 3D", I get the error message: "Run-time error '381': Invalid property array index".

I have attempted to troubleshoot the problem in the following ways:

- I have uninstalled and re-installed the program multiple times

- I have tried installing from both the MSI and EXE version of the installer

- I have tried installing an older version of the software

- I have verified my Windows version is up to date, and I have used the SFC and DISM commands in CMD to verify my file system and windows installation is not corrupt

- I have used the repair option in control panel for the program installation

No matter what I do, I can't seem to get the software to start working. Unfortunately, I also haven't been able to find any articles or discussion threads from other users experiencing similar issues with S-FRAME or any other Altair software.

If you have experienced this problem and know how to resolve it, or if you think I've missed some obvious troubleshooting steps, please let me know. I have attached a photo of the error message.

    Hello,

Except for the proposed solution of deleting the .INI file, is there any other way or have you manage to surpass this problem with this solution?

    Hello George,

Thanks for getting in touch. I'm not sure if you saw one of my previous replies (it may have been buried in a conversation), but the order of operations is fairly important in this case.  Can you please try the following and let us know your outcome?

    1. Uninstall S-FRAME
    2. Delete any remaining S-FRAME folders in C:Program Files and C: Program Files x86
    3. Reinstall S-FRAME using the .EXE installation file
    4. Once installed, try running S-FRAME
    5. If the issue persists, please try deleting the INI files and CNF files from %localappdata%/s-frame software

If that still doesn't resolve your issue, I would encourage you to create a support ticket by emailing HWSupport@altair.com, where we can attempt further troubleshooting.

    Regards,

Hi there, I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing issues.

Can you please try to browse to the following folder in Windows Explorer (copy and paste this path into the address bar:

    %LOCALAPPDATA%\S-FRAME Software

Once you get there, please delete the following file, and then try to re-run S-FRAME.

The file name to be deleted is: SFRAME2023.INI

(The file could be named SFRAME2022.INI, depending on the program's version).

Running the program should have this file regenerated, and should allow you to operate S-FRAME as usual.  Please let us know if this solves your problem.

    Thank you

    Regards,
    Matthew Sauer

Hi. I followed your steps and deleted the specified file at the file path you provided. Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful at resolving my issue. I am still experiencing the same error code when I attempt to create a file.

I'd like to clarify that I have never installed S-FRAME before now. So this error has been present ever since I first attempted to install S-FRAME.

    Hi,

I am a student and am getting the same code. I have reinstalled and tried deleting the file as well but none of those things worked. Is there a solution to this error?
