Not connected Ply in the laminate

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am facing a problem I could not solve with my basic knowledge of Hypermesh so I decided to contact you after a week of trying. I tryed to simulate a 3 point bending model, in wich I created two laminates independently and than I tried connecting them to a honeycomb which is built up with shells as well. I already used this method and never had a problem with it, but this time somehow one of the Plies in the laminate (which is contacting the lower surface of the 2 supports) is not connected the other plies (within the laminate), this is what I do not uderstand, because of the definition of the laminate it should be correctly connected. I will include my model, the .fem file and the .mvw file so you hopefully can open all the files needed to solve my problem.

I can not attach my model because it is larger than the given 15MB limit, please contact me so I can send you all the files. But because of this I inserted a picture which could help you understand my problem. On the picture you can see, with a red arrow showcased, that one ply is not moving with the rest of the model, the laminate itself, the other ply is moving as expected.

I hope you can help me.

Yours faithfully,

Martin Molnar

why can't you just include all plies into a single Laminate? For what i understood, you have created 3 shell meshes, one for each ply. Is that correct?

You could just create a single mesh, and assign 1 laminate with these 3 layers. (or more).

If you want to create them separately, you would need to connect them, by using contacts for example.
