Optistruct Solver View doesn't show up

Hello,

i am new to Hypermesh/Optistruct and i started my training with a youtube tutorial about the topology optimization of a bridge (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RcbsMz81bPs).

so here is my problem:

after setting up the model i hit the optistruct button but nothing happens. In the bottom left corner of the hypermesh window there is some action going on but after a few seconds it says 'ready' and no window of optistruct or the optistruct solver view is showing up. I guess optistruct never started the analysation process. But there is no error.

Can someone help me with this? I uninstalled the application and installed it again with a new downloaded file but this did not solve the problem. I am working with the student version of HyperWorks 2019.

Thanks in advance,

Max

Please don't use any special character while saving file or during analysis. I see you used brA1/4et as the name.....Just save file as bracket. It should run the analysis.

    Hello,

I didn't use special characters, I am using hyperworks 2019 - student edition. When I click on Analysis>optistruct, .fem file is created and it shows ready at bottom, solver view don't show up. I read many posts related to this issue, and below are the things that I tried -

    1. Avoid using special characters

    2. use .fem extension.

    3. re-install the software

    4. Change read only directories to not read only in program files folder.

    Please help me with this

i would avoid running in folders and using filenames with 'space' on it.

Can you rename your fem file and try running in somewhere like: 'C:/temp/carm.fem'?
