Overview

The durability folks are interested in looking at weld failure; the thickness of the weld, the material it’s connecting to plays an important role in predicting weld failure accurately. Chrysler was interested in using OS for linking the thickness of the weld(seam weld, quads) to be a function of the The thickness of the sheets that it was connecting to. Here is a script that picks the weld element sets, finds the attached shells, and creates Design variables and dlinks for the model. Currently the operation is manual and is a lot of effort to do this.

Usage/Installation Instructions

Source the script in HM, and point to the set containing the seam welds Pick the dequation that represents the math that is applied.
