Overview

This script automates the creation of a hex mesh on a bolt. It takes a cross section of the bolt and automatically creates the hex mesh from that. It can mesh many bolts in succession extremely rapidly and requires no user input.

Usage/Installation Instructions

Your screws should be solids. Simply run the script and select the screw solids. The script then asks for element size for the cross section as well as the density you'd like for the revolve. It will then create the mesh for each bolt.

 

Limitation

Many bolt types are supported, but there is a chance it won't work for some geometries. It has been extensively tested with many bolt types.
