Panopticon 2023.0 offers new ways to create data tables, new connectors for cloud data sources, and numerous improvements that allow users to create, manage, and deploy their dashboards in less time.
This short video highlights the major improvements in Panopticon 2023.0:
User Experience
Our streamlined user interface enables designers to take less time building and deploying better-looking, easier-to-understand dashboards. Analysts are better able to analyze large, complex, and fast-changing datasets, spot outliers and anomalies, and gain new insights into their data quickly.
- Panopticon 2023 introduces a new generation of visualization parts: The new X-Axis Graph and Y-Axis Graph can use all available types of data: numeric, text, continuous time, and time buckets. Dashboard designers make a single selection to create plots along the X- or Y-axis. Everything else is flexible and easy to change. The new graphs can display visual markers side-by-side or in layers, including bars, lines, dots, and more.
- New layout templates and layout tools: Panopticon 2023.0 makes it easier to create equally sized and properly aligned parts, which are critical to good dashboard design. Pre-defined layout templates appear automatically when users create new dashboards. Designers can also create and save their own custom layout templates, which can include corporate branding like logos, disclaimers, and more. New tools for splitting, aligning, distributing, and resizing parts on the dashboards makes custom layout work more efficient.
- New style settings enable a customized look and feel: With this release, users have complete freedom to build corporate branding styles for their dashboards. Style settings are available for background colors, font colors, border and delimiter colors, padding and margin, border width, border corner roundness, font, font size, and text alignment. Users access style settings at the general workbook, general parts, specific part type, and individual parts levels. They can create any number of custom styles and use multiple styles in combination with each other. Dashboard designers can publish style collections as custom themes for use in other workbooks. Themes include dashboard layout templates, color palettes, and shape palettes.
Data Connectivity
Cloud storage locations frequently used in enterprise data pipelines and automation workflows are now directly accessible as data sources.
- Panopticon 2023 adds new data connectivity capabilities for cloud services, including new dedicated connectors for Azure Cloud Containers, Google Cloud Buckets, and AWS S3 Buckets are now available.
- All data connectors can handle delimited text, or JSON, or XML, or Microsoft® Excel® files.
