A Step-by-Step Guide: How to Download Student Edition Software Hassle-Free

The software download links for Altair Student Edition products and the license file are included in the license email (refer the below image). The software links are organized by product type or discipline.

[A] To begin downloading the software, follow these steps:

  1. Open the license email and locate the section with the download links/product names.
  2. Find the product you want to download. Each product is listed by its name.
  3. Click on the product name. For instance, if you wish to download the "Inspire" software, click on the word "Inspire."

4. Once you've clicked on the product name, a dialogue box will appear, prompting you to choose where you want to save the .exe file. Select your preferred location, then click "Save." This action will initiate the automatic download of the corresponding .exe file.

 

[B] Download Links Troubleshooting:

In cases where, upon clicking the download links in the email, you only see a new tab opening and the .exe file does not start downloading, please follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue:

  1. Try a Different Browser:

If the download links aren't working in your current browser, copy and paste the links into a different browser's address bar and press "Enter."

  1. Open Email in Different Browser:
  • If you're using email services such as Gmail or Yahoo, for instance, in a specific browser, try opening the same email in a different browser. Click on the download links within the email using the alternate browser to check if the download initiates.
