Setting SimLab to show complete menu bar with "analysis menu"
Dear ms or mr,
I am importing mesh with forces generated by flux 3D into simlab and I want to define constraints and materials and load steps and so on. However the only menus I can see are "file" "View" "Sketch" "Results" "inspect" and "automation". I can get SimLab to show me other menus by setting selecting solution (modal force response in my case) but that will delete the forces and excitation load.
Could you please advise what can I do to solve this? I am using version 2022.3. I am trying to follow tutorial/report I have from Altair.
Many thanks in advance
Martin

Hi Martin Krajicek,
This happens usually when you have selected "Altair Solvers only" during installation. There are two installation types when it comes to choosing the solvers:
- Altair and Non-Altair Solvers: You can specify the solver when creating a solution. Also exporting the solver deck is allowed.
- Altair solver only: The main menu will display completely only after creating a solution. The name of the solvers won't appear, only the type of solution will appear.
The solution I would propose is:
If you have installed SimLab on a local machine then go to the installation folder: .../SimLab2022.3/bin/win64/configure.exe.Double click on cofigure.exe > The panel that you see during installation opens up.
Choose Altair Solvers and Non-Altair Solvers and proceed with the installation.
If the installation has been done on a server then ask your IT team to do so.
Hope this helps.
