How to set no relative motion in contact (TYPE2)?

Hi,

I want to set no relative motion in contact (like FREEZE contact in OptiStruct).

Is it possible using default in /INTER/TYPE2?

(TYPE2 is used for tied contact.)

Thanks

    Hi,

that is correct- you can use TYPE2 tied contact to set no relative motion (Kinematic Constraint); except Spotflag=25 which is Penalty formulation with constant stiffness calculated using Istf and Stfac.

    Thank you so much.

    I have one more question.

    https://community.altair.com/community?id=community_question&sys_id=5266003a1b2bd0908017dc61ec4bcba9

In this question, relative motion appears in type2 default settings.

How can I set perfectly no motion?

or Is there any way sharing nodes in interface?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Concerning the relative motion between the nodes, do you want the nodes to stay thesame distance apart?

Using spotflag=0 should do this.  If not you probably need to attached your model so it can be reviewed.

    Thanks,

    Andy
