Not being able to activate Student license

Hi.

I've installed the Hyperworks bundle Studen edition (Advanced Modeling & Visualization) plus the CFD Solvers and have been trying to activate my student license just as the tutorials said, and following all the steps of different methods that i could find there (followed this one: https://altairuniversity.com/altair-student-edition-licensing/).

I've tried doing the system environment variable method as well as putting the license file (altair_lic.dat) in the security folder. Before that I've been sure to check that the ethernet ID was the same in my computer and the license file.

I also wanted to try the method "Activate by using the License Setup Dialog in the tool" described in the previous link but i couldn't find the "license set up window"

These are the steps I followed:

-Downloading the installers I needed and the license file (provided by the e-mail from altair)

-Install Hyperworks Desktop student edition and the CFD Solvers just as the method in the following tutorial (skipping the "Set Up Licensing" step: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZJ_1hV_8Ws)

-Once installed, I set up the system environment variable (ALTAIR_LICENSE_PATH) with the license file(altair_lic.dat)

-Tried to launch HyperWorks Desktop 2022 and HyperWorks CFD 2022 but both of them failed and "Error 9" popped

-Moving the license file to the security folder and both editing the system environment variable (as file changed location) or deleting it, "Error 9" doesn't pop anymore but the program won't launch anyway and a message "Hyperworks has encountered an error and must now exit" is prompted and aborts launching.

-Then tried to do the "Activate by using the License Setup Dialog in the tool" method and, as I said before, couldn't find the "license set up window".

-As a last resource I tried to do the same I did at first but without skipping the "Set Up Licensing" step and just selecting the file at the installer (installation process). When the installation is finished I check and see that the environment variable has been created automatically, so I try to launch the program but "Error 9" pops once again. Seeing this I copy the license file to the security folder and the error doesn't pop anymore but I still have the problem of the "Hyperworks has encountered an error and must now exit" message and launch abort

I REALLY need help. I've been a couple of days now with this problem. I have also tried to contact with Altair Support but when creating a case there's a "Required information" (*) called "Account" and I just don't know what to write in there, so I can't contact with the Support team.

Here's information about my PC as it may be important to solve de problem:

Computer Model: Custom computer (CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor 3.59 GHz)

Operating System and Version: Windows 10 Pro 21H1

Processor Info: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core Processor 3.59 GHz

Total RAM: 16GB

Graphics Card: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1660

    Hi,

This is likely because the executable/s was corrupted on download, and hence you will need to completely uninstall the software and re-download the executables, and it is important first to try deleting the downloaded file and downloading it again and then install again.

If you still face issues, to make sure the file is not damaged on download, run an md5 checksum on the downloaded file (google md5 checksum):

    1. Double click / run the Winmd5 checksum executable (download win md5 a freeware from the internet, please note we cannot be responsible for external content and info)
    1. Select the executable by clicking on the Browse button or drag and drop the file into the window

After running the MD5 checksum on your computer, kindly see if your MD5 checksum value matches with it.

Great! with win md5 I can get the MD5 checksum value of the file I have in my computer, but how do I get the MD5 checksum value of the "original" or "correct" file in order to verify?

    Thanks

    Hi

Can you share the MD5 checksum value of your file here?

Which version of the software are you using?
