Unresolved problem with the resultant vector of pressure

Hello,

I'm had this problem for a while now and still cannot find a solution... namely a problem with changing the direction of pressure from normal to OZ axis. The program seems to be completely unresponsive to my commands. Below I am posting a short video of the issue. In the end the calculated resultant force should only have one non-zero component (Z). I would be very grateful for your help. Thank you

Problem shown on a much simpler model - despite the pressures being updated to OY axis there is still an OX component:

I just tried the same on a simple surrogate of your model and it works ok for me, can you share your .hm?

I've attached my HM file. Thank you!

For that HM, with no modifications at all, Loads Summary shows me no forces except global Y in that model (it is identical to my own test model pretty much!), this in 2021.2.

Interesting. I'm also working on the same 2021 patch. The only difference being it's a student's version. What's even more troubling is that I'm having the exact same bug on both of my computers. I'll try contacting Altair support. Thank you for your answers!

in your image though, the pressures are aligned with the element plane, if I do that I get the same as you! image

try exporting the fem and re-importing it to see what it looks like then?

Tried it. Unfortunately the outcome is the same. Maybe reinstalling the software will help... I've also sent a ticket to the Altair Support Team. I'll be sure to share more when I know more.

Maybe worth trying deleting all your settings files, see 'most viewed posts' on right, sometimes a config or preferences file can get messed up, if that is what you see when you export a fem though, it suggests, either your HM is exporting it or displaying the data correctly, the attached fem was written from your HM in my session, and on import shows correctly, what do you get from this?

I followed the instructions on "how to delete settings files" and deleted all files mentioned except for hmsettings.tcl for it was absent in the directory folder. I'm working on default HM, maybe that is why.

As for the FEMs.. I opened both of our export files side by side and compared the two. They are exactly the same.

ok, that suggests a display issue then, since we know the fem I wrote out has the pload4 defined in Y

Not sure what else the issue could be here, is your graphics card patched up to date?, 2021.2 needs at least 451.77 if you are on an nvidia card or 20.Q3 on an AMD, might sound odd, but graphics drivers can cause issues with loads display
