How can we determine the generalized scattering matrix (with network and radiation ports)  of a single antenna using spherical wave expansion in FEKO ?

Generalized scattering matrix contains input reflection coefficient (Γ), antenna receiving coefficients (R), antenna transmission coefficients (T) and antenna scattering coefficients (S) for spherical harmonic modes.  Antenna scattering matrix  defines the relation between incoming and outgoing (scattered) spherical waves from the antenna.

    Hi Mehmet,

Please have a look at tattached Hybrid Methods Based on Generalized Scattering Matrices.pdf

For the antenna scattering matrix / generalised scattering matrix (GSM), you can also refer to the publication Multipole and S-Parameter Antenna and Propagation Model.pdf, also attached. Another Feko customer is computing the GSM out of the spherical mode expansion (exported to the *.sph file) following the formulations in the book J. E. Hansen: Spherical Near-Field Antenna Measurements, 1988.

For waveguide ports, Feko can natively compute and export the GSM into an XML based *.chr format (should be easy to parse externally). Request at the DA card via EDITFEKO:

    Hope this helps!

for waveguide ports, how can we prepare DA Card via EDITFEKO ?

Do you have any tutorial for using DA card ?

    Hi Mehmet,

After you have opened the .pre file of a Feko model in EDITFEKO, it is best to place the cursor on the line of the DA card and press F1. The dialog will then open.

    Best regards,
    Torben
