Radioss impact simulation - I want extract the displacement at 4 different timestep and re-import as a static load case in Optistruct - how to do?

Dear All,

I have a impact dynamic simulation in Radioss and I would like to extract nodal displcement (or nodal forces) in 3 differnt point of the simulation and reapply them in a Optistruct to combine with other loads/constraint.

Analyzed object is the same, but mesh is different.

Using field seems it's possible to reapply displacement but how can I operatively do it?

Can someone help me, please?

Thanks a lot,

Fabio

What I will say might not be the only or even the best way to achieve it, but I believe it operationally straightforward. (never done it, but I don't see why it should not work).
    1. Run RADIOSS.
    2. Create a static OptiStruct model with the same mesh. Extract the nodal displacements exactly as they are and apply in the same nodes. That should be doable with HV or HMPost / Query.
    3. Use Optistruct two step submodelling to read the h3d from 2. as loads in a different mesh.

    How does it sound?

In any case, I am sure I am not telling you anything you don't know, but you should exercise caution when using an static loadcase to represent a dynamic event. Maybe getting the displacements "exactly" as RADIOSS computes is not that important in the grand scheme of things considering in the accuracy you are inherently losing  not considering the dynamic effects.
