Maximum laminate thickness

Hi,

i am trying to optimise a laminate modelled with a PCOMP card. I am using topology optimisation with optistruct.
I have designed 2 layers of different angles each with a thickness of 1mm. Getting the results I of course find areas in the model with a total thickness of 2 mm. In some areas one layer vanishes and the other layer obtains a total thickness of 1mm.

My question is if it is possible to constrain the total thickness of the laminate to a thickness <= 1 and still leave the thickness values of 1 mm for each single layer?

thanks for your help
tom

It looks like I found a solution for that. There is a possibility to define functions, which can be used as responses. I defined a deqatn (in the dequations panel) with the form f=a+b. My two thicknesses described above i defined as designvariables in the Hyperlaminate panel.
Furthermore I defined a new response referencing my equation and the two designvariables which are a and b respectively.
In the dconstraint i constrained f <1 and thats it.

    looks like it works
