Non-Linear static contact with composites Error #4965
Hello,
I am running a nonlinear static analysis with a load applied over contacts and a displacement of a spc. When I switch to a composite material instead of steel, I keep getting error #4965.
I tried handling it with different contact parameters and the number of increments and iterations, but nothing changed. How do I solve this problem? Whats the reason for it?
Thanks.

can you share the .out file as well?

for non-linear convergence issues, also take a look at these tips:

try taking a look at these contact pairs reported by the out file.
Particularly close to nodes 1664 and 5097. Taking a look at the errors at these locations there's something wrong with these contacts.
You ight try to use a smaller step (NLADAPT) or to reduce the stiffness of the contact (using a PCONT property in your cotnact pair, with SOFT option).
Also request PARAM,NLMON,DISP to check what is going on, as it will write a separate .H3D file with all the increments, and you might see something there.
