Radioss shape variables in Hyperstudy

Hello,

Can anyone confirm whether shape variables are still supported in Hyperstudy with Radioss templex (tpl) files? I cannot find much documentation on it. As far as I can tell, it only works by exporting in Radioss 2019 or earlier format.

Thanks,

    Hello,

You can export the shapes using the direct connection to HyperStudy.

    File > export > HyperStudy.

Kindly take a look at this video which demonstrates the connection between HM and Hst.

If you want the .shp file to use it with the tpl you can also export it.

Save the file as a .shp and you should be able you use it in HyperStudy.

Let me know if this works on your side.

    Kind Regards,

    Paola.

    Hi Paola,

Thank you for your response. I am unable to use the hypermesh->hyperstudy connection due to our hyperstudy template calling tcl scripts and hypermesh batch mode prior to sending over the radioss file to the solver. So we must use the solver deck/tpl method.

What you show in the image is the way I've exported the shape variables (see below). However, the node selection and "insert shape" commands in hyperstudy text editor do now work unless I use an old Radioss format (2019 or earlier). If I manually insert the templex command over the nodes, Hyperstudy will not read in the shape variable(s) correctly. Does it work on your end?

Hi @bocaj22 an apology for the late response.

Is it possible for you to share your archive so that I can try on my side?

    File > share > .hstx

It would be better if you create a support ticket and share the file there.

    Kind Regards,

    Paola
