EDEM Oka wear coloring position is abnormal.

I am conducting a coupled simulation using EDEM and Fluent, with Oka wear applied in EDEM. The image shows the Oka wear shading diagram, where the model is a horizontal straight pipe, the left end is the particle inlet, and the particle gravity direction is downward. However, in the image, the wear location appears on the upper sidewall, which does not match the actual scenario where wear occurs on the lower sidewall. What could be the reason for this discrepancy? Could someone provide an explanation?

Thank you.

    Hi,

Could this be the result of a single errant particle?  If there is any instability in the simulation and you had a particle with a high force, this could give you an artificially high wear on the area that it impacted.

This could then cause problems with the scaling of the colouring if you have a max value which is orders of magnitude higher than the average.  When you look at the colouring can you try changing the max colour to a much lower level, to see if that resolves the issue.

    Hello Stephen,

Thank you very much for your response.

As you mentioned, after reducing the magnitude, wear coloring appeared in the bottom area, but it has not been determined whether it was the result of a single erroneous particle. Later, I redefined the mesh and improved its quality, and the simulation results were more consistent with reality. The previous abnormal situation may have been related to particle anomalies or mesh quality. Thanks again for your help.
