Dear Optistruct user,

Could someone explain me how can I restart modal frequency response analysis from normal modal analysis in Optistruct?

Many Thanks in advance

Shiva

There's not exactly a Restart in this case.

But, you can use the EIGSAVE and EIGRETRIVE commands to store the modal results for a second run.

    Model #1

run modal analysis and request EIGSAVE >> it saves the eigenresults into a external file.

    Model #2

create a FRF model, and request EIGRETRIEVE >> it will use the previously saved result and skip the modal analysis, thus speed-up the FRF run.

Hi Adriano, Thank you for your answer. I have an extended question on random analysis. Is the same approach works for running random analysis from frequency response results (random just statistical calculations and I used to do only within Patran by using FRF results)!? With this I just want to avoid running FRF analysis repeatedly during random iterations. Many thanks in advance for your time Shiva

Random analysis can be restarted from a previous FRF analysis in newer versions, by using ASSIGN card.
