Constraints in multi-material topology optimization
Hello everyone,
I would like to carry out a multi-material topology optimization. Yield strength of materials are constraints for me and minimize weight is objective function. My problem is that how can I define yield strength on properties when I have no idea about distribution of materials in design variables. in Altair examples I have seen that displacements are defined as constraints but I don't have a criterion just like Altair examples.
thanks for your help

Hi Reza,
Currently a material based stress response is NOT supported. It will be supported in further version.
Stress responses based on property or element entity is supported as you may know.
Thanks and best regards.

hi again,
i wanted to ask you again, if you have a special recommendation for me. Which constraints instead of yield strength of materials can I use if the goal is to reduce the weight of the component. of course I have no special criterion for displacement or compliance.
I thought maybe it would be a good idea to take out the compliance or displacement of the original component (not the optimized one) and use it as a criterion for constraints.thanks and best regards
Reza
