multi-material topography optimization

Hello everyone,

I have 2 questions:

1. is it possible to apply a Topography Optimization also for 3D Model or this is only for 2D Models.
2. is a multi-material topography optimization also feasible for Optistruct? If so, is there an example somewhere?

Below is the answer for your questions.

1. It is possible to do Topography optimization for 3D models provided you need to have a shell element layer around the solid which need be considered in DTPG card as design variable. You can follow the below example for reference.

2. Usually, Multi material Optimization is preferred for Topology Optimization.
