how to improve 3D Meshing Quality and Alternative Approaches for Topology Optimization Results

hi,

does anyone know how to improve the quality of 3D meshing? Well, Tetra remesh doesn't help, it doesn't make any difference. I would like to know in general what alternative I have if I can't get a good mesh after topology optimization. if there is no more possibility, how can I get a solid out of meshing and again mesh it?

    Hi Reza,

There are a few different options in HyperWorks you can use to take the results forward after running topology optimization.

For a full redesign and validation, I would suggest using Inspire.  You can use Altair Inspire to fit PolyNurbs over the optimized result from a topology optimization (starting from the STL iso-surface contour).  This generates a smooth CAD profile over the optimized results.  This is generally what we suggest once you get some optimized result from OptiStruct and want to get a solid CAD interpretation from the design and then remesh and reanalyze it with Hypermesh or Inspire depending on the level of detail you need.

    Thanks,

    Rob H.
