How to define different orthotropic material properties in tension and compression?
Hello,
I'm trying to analyze a material which has different material properties in tension and compression. I tried different things but am not able to achieve the same.
As it's an orthotropic material I need to define these compression and tension data in all three directions. I read about MCIRON card image for concrete which pretty much does the same, but couldn't find it in the software.
Please suggest some steps that I can take here. Thank you in advance.

MCIRON allows you to have different tension/compression curves for NL ISOTROPIC material, as an extension of a MAT1 material card.
This other post has an example file. (in japaneses, but the model is there).
For orthotropic material I believe you would need to create a material model, and user material by coupling OptiStruct with MultiScale Designer. There you would be able to design and characterize your material in tension and compression, including non-isotropic behavior.

Hello,
Thank you. Can you suggest any tutorial where I can read about how to use MultiScale Designer?
Also I'm not working on composites.
