Hi, I want to work on this model shown in the picture. When I simulate the model it acts as a swinging pendulum, which is not what I want. How can I add stiffness to the model so that it can stay put? Is it adviced to add supporting forces/moments on the joints?

Hello Linn - there are different ways to support the joint. Ultimately, it will represent some kind of spring-damper situation.

    a) you may add a torsion spring at that joint location between the 2 bodies

    b) you may add a bushing and provide stiffness and damping in the direction about which the joint rotates.

    c) you can add a force with an expression that represents a spring damper.

The spring damper is the simplest. If you do not care about the rotating degree of freedom of the joint, you may even add a motion with 0.0 displacement on the joint.
