I HAVE DONE PRESS FIT SIMULATION IN OPTISTRUCT WITH CONTACT NON LINEARITY. I HAVE GOT CONTACT PRESSURE AND PRESSING LOAD VALUE EQUAL TO PRACTICAL VALUE BUT THE DIRECTIONAL DEFORMATION IN TARGET PART IS VERY HIGH WHICH IS MORE THAN THE TOTAL INTERFERENCE.  I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT WHY IT DEFORM PLASTICALLY WHETHER THE MATERIAL HAS NOT PLASTICITY.

    Hi,

press-fit will cause a lot of deformations, even if no plasticity is present (only elastic deformations) as the material has to be pushed out.

You are imposing Clearance in your contact? I'd add clearance only if you want to override your mesh distance.

What is your actual press-fit interference?
