How can I rotate the flow field imported into EDEM?
I need to simulate drilling and hope that the flow field rotates and moves up and down with the drill bit.
The speed of the flow field is constant, it just needs to be translated and rotated.
Hi Xixihaha,
I hope it's not possible to rotate the flow field as .cgns file non editable format.
I would suggest re-run the CFD simulation with an appropriate co-ordinate system, if the simulation takes a long time I would suggest another option is
Orient the model in EDEM as per model in CFD, i feel this option is easy.
Thanks,
Prasad A

Thank you for your reply.
I found that the flow field in HyperWorks CFD cannot be translated while rotating.
I don’t know if it’s because I don’t know how to operate it.
Otherwise, I can use EDME-HyperWorks CFD coupling.

The flow field is not orientable it's as per the simulation because of fixed boundary condition.
HWCFD+ EDEM- 2way you can run , if required.
If files are sharable, please share let me take a look at the files.

This is my CFD file.
I want the entire flow field to rotate and translate.
However, it seems that these two motions cannot exist at the same time in the same flow field.
Thank you
Hi,
Just to add you can import multiple fields and cycle through the fields, this is with a custom version of the model:

This is a good idea
