Issue with the linear pattern in Inspire

I was trying to design a model to use Inspire. After creating a hole in a circular tube,

I encountered the following error message when performing a linear pattern.

I used this method to set the number of copies as a parameter.

Is there any way to make multiple holes and also set a parameter for the number of copies?

I'm so sorry.. It has an typo.

In my design process, I created a cylinderical hole and I patterned the holes.

But I couldn't create because of error massage.

    Hi GyeongJun,

Please find a sample model attached which will pattern holes into this block.

I first cut the hole and then patterned it according to the variables I defined and the expression I made for the spacing. The block is dimensioned for width and depth in Sketch 1. The hole diameter and spacing to the outer edges are dimensioned in Sketch 2.

This example will allow the User to change the value of hole_instances and see the effect on the block. The expression should maintain the hole dimension from the outer edge (hole_front_edge) and equally space holes.

    Variables:

    Model when hole_instances = 3:

    Model when hole_instances = 4:

    Hope this helps!

    Hi GyeongJun,

I would recommend you create the tube first and then pattern the tube, rather than create the cylinders and pattern the holes. For me, that process was able to support the variable input for the number of copies.

    Hope this helps!
