Pleasem I'm doing a Gauge optimization for a part, where I only have one property to optimize.

I have this responses:

Stress -> same as the part property

Displacement -> Part node

Weight Compliance -> 3 load cases, 1g, 3.5g and torsional (displacement applied)

But I have the error below:

    Hi Raphael,

    Does your static load case 3 have both force and enforced displacement as loads?

    and are you trying to minimize compliance?

    The error is mostly related to that.

    You can solve the optimization problem if you either have only force or only enforced displacement as load in a sub case.If you can remove either of it you can solve optimization as it is.

    If you need both force and enforced displacement to be as load for sub case 3, you change your response and objective to min mass instead of min compliance. And to make sure you improve your design you can have stress/displacement constraints on individual load cases.

    Here is some more information on how compliance is calculated.

    The compliance definition for load case 3 is creating problem. Once you remove that and substitute with min mass with constraints needed, you should be all set.
