How do we find out which area is under tension and which area is under compression during a static stress stress result analysis?

I have done a static stress analysis and got the result for maximum stress distribution area, I wanted to which area undergoes compressive stress and which area is under tensile stress, what are the options in the hyperview to visualize that?

    You should see the diagonal of the principal stress tensor, under Max Principal and Min Principal.

    hi,

    additionally, i'd suggest you to load your results into HyperView and contour Signed vonMises.

    It shows you in a single result what regions would be in tension and whatregionsunder compression.

    the below example is a simply supported beam, tension in the bottom and compression at top.
