Hi Robinson,
Thanks for your reply.
Can you please check my subcase as below :
Here in subcase 1 is the contact load only. Is this ok ?
in subcase 2 is the contact load and pressure load.
Kindly give me your feedback.
THanks
Hi Sid,
Yes, that's correct.
Maybe you can be interested in having intermediate results, so don't forget to include the NLOUT card in this case.
Nonetheless, your setup is already correct.

Hello Sid,
Loadstep1 - With all contact defined, OptiStruct will solve all the penetrations as an interference fit. In case there is no penetration in the mesh, you can use a negative clearance to solve this contact pair as an interference fit. The value will be the interference. Define the negative clearance in the PCONT card.
Loadstep 2 - Apply the pressure load, and use CNTNLSUB for continuing from the previous load step. A large displacement approach only can be continued from another lgdisp, and the same for small displacement. Just use CNTNLSUB=YES (or define a SID from which you want to continue).
I hope this helps you, and don't forget to mark this answer as correct if it responds to your question, so others could use it as a reference as well.
Thank you very much,

Hi Robinson,
Good Morning !!
This worked perfect. thanks
I want to find the torque required for the slip of the interference fit. (Model in the pic )
Can you please let me know how to do this analysis ?
Could you please provide me any short sample opristruct deck (.fem file).
So I can repeat the same.
THanks for the help.
Looking forward for your reply.
