remote point

Hi,

I am doing suspension analysis. I have not used shaft during analysis. So, I want to use remote point at specified location and apply moment on it. I want to find out effect of that moment on suspension. In ANSYS there is option to create remote point. Similarly, is there any option to create remote point in Hyper mesh with Radioss as solver ?

    Hi Pratik,

If I understood your query right, then create a node at specific point where you want to apply the moment. Instead for that shaft you may be connecting between the remote point and suspension with a rigid and select this node as the independent node.

In the rigid body panel use ICoG=3, so that the center of gravity is set at the master node coordinates and with respect to this point you can apply the moment.

I am not getting option ICOG in RBODY Manager in Hypermesh with Radioss as solver. I scrolled down but there is no ICOG option. Where it is ?

    Thanks George.

    Hi,

Is this being done to study the effect of roll moment ?

    Yes

    Ok.

As roll moment is about the roll axis (formed by joining the roll centres in front and rear) due to centrifugal force on cg and also rollcentre will be at certain offset from cg due to which moment occurs. So are you having the remote point as cg or the roll centre
